Thanks to everyone who has responded. I am reposting this in order to see if I can get a
few more responses. 15 people have replied. I'd like to see 10 more responses --hint
hint :)

also i have added 1 more question to the sheath fluid survey. (7. How much do you use per
month?)

Our laboratory is conducting a survey on flow cytometry commercial supplies, specifically
sheath fluid/diluent, and cellular controls. All replies will be kept confidential. I
will tabulate information and post it to the list. Please respond directly to
vbsmith@unmc.edu

Diluents/Sheath Fluid
1. What type of instrument do you use?
2. Do you use commercial sheath fluid? If yes, who is the vendor?
3. If you do not use commercial sheath fluid, what do you use?
4. Is the cost of sheath fluid an issue? Are shipping and handling costs too high?
5. How does storage and handling of commercial sheath fluid affect your lab?
6. Do you qualify your sheath fluid when you change vendors or recipes?
7. How much do you use per month?

Cellular Controls
1. Do you use a cellular control?
2. What is it? (Whole blood, commercial control, etc)
3. Is the commercial control a positive procedural control? What is the stability of the
product?
4. How many times per week do you use a control?
5. Who is the vendor of the commercial control?
6. If you do not use a commercial control, is it due to prohibitive costs? What would
you be willing to pay per test?

Thank you for your time,

Victoria Smith
