HI: I follow immune deficient patients who ship their blood overnight to me for analysis. We received heparinized blood shipped during the 104oF heat wave last week. The CD62L+CD45RA+ population on the young child had been 70% of CD4 cells 3 months ago. With the blood that arrived during the heat wave, the percentage was just 20% of CD4 cells . The same decrease occurred with the CD8 cells. Has anyone looked at the heat stability of CD62L? Thanks Louise Markert MD Duke Univ Med Ctr marke001@mc.duke.edu
