Position Title:      Technical Support Engineer

Description:
Responsible  for  providing technical support to field service engineers and BDB
customers.   Develop  and recommend product maintenance programs and strategies.
Monitor  reliability  data  from  field and customer input as well as management
reports  and  repair  center  feedback.  Develop programs utilizing feedback and
technical  knowledge  which  effectively utilize department resources and reduce
customer  downtime.   Prepare  service  documentation including service manuals,
retrofit   instructions,   technical   bulletins,  and  parts  lists.   Identify
procedures  and  level  of  theory appropriate for effective troubleshooting and
repair  of  products  by  field engineer.  Prepare and deliver field engineering
training  programs  for  field  operations  and  affiliates.  Deliver courses to
domestic  and  affiliate field operatives with assistance from other departments
as  required.   Support  development  of new products.  Assist in development of
product  specifications  to  ensure  reasonable  reliability and serviceability.
Recommend  product  service  strategies  based  on  evaluation  of technical and
business  issues.   Follow  design  development  to  gain  product  information,
evaluate  product  designs,  recommend  improvements  and develop projections on
reliability and frequency of maintenance.  Prepare and deliver training programs
for  field  personnel  on new products.  Install and service new products during
trials.  Prepare and review technical service information.

Qualifications:
Typically  requires  a  BSEE/BSET   in a related engineering discipline and four
years  of  technical  support  experience,  or equivalent combination of related
education   and   experience.    Effective   interpersonal,   written  and  oral
communication skills required.  Working knowledge of electronic, biomedical, and
mechanical engineering.

Position Title:      Flow Cytometry Instructor
Location:       Mansfield, MA

Description:
Responsible  for  developing  and  conducting  technical  training  courses  for
customers.  Assist  with  development  of  customer  training programs.  Prepare
lesson plans, laboratory exercises, training  guides, and other course materials
to support training plan.  Present customer training programs following training
plan  and standard lesson plans.  Present classroom lectures, conduct laboratory
training  sessions,  administer  examinations,  and prepare student evaluations.
Follow  up  to  determine  applicability  of  course  material.  Modify training
program  as  appropriate.  Maintain  classrooms,  laboratories,  and  associated
equipment.   Provide  training  at  customer  facilities,  including initial and
follow up training, as scheduled by management.

Qualifications:
Typically requires a BS in a related scientific discipline, or a BA in Education
with  a  scientific  minor  and  two years of laboratory experience or technical
training  experience,  or  equivalent combination of related technical education
and  experience.  Requires 2 years of flow cytometry experience preferably on BD

Position Title:      Customer Support Representative

Description:
Responsible  for providing centralized telephone technical support to customers,
field  personnel,  and  others  on  BDB  instruments  and software.  Analyze and
troubleshoot  complex  flow  cytometry  system problems over the phone.  Develop
expert  solutions  to effectively resolve problems.  Record requests for service
and   action   taken  to  resolve  problems  in  both  computerized  and  manual
documentation  systems  to  provide historical service records, identify trends,
make  recommendations,  and  forward  product  complaints.  Develop and maintain
expertise  in  instrumentation  and software.  Obtain detailed documentation and
training  on  all  assigned  products  including  design,  manufacture,  service
operation,  and  applications.   Develop basic electronics, mechanics, fluidics,
optics, and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications:
Typically  requires  an  ASEE degree and one year of experience, or two years of
experience  with  an  AA  in biomedical discipline, or equivalent combination of
related   education   and   experience.   Effective  communication,  analytical,
troubleshooting  and  problem  solving  skills  required.  Working  knowledge of
medical diagnostic instrumentation also required.



Functional Area:     Field Ops 
Position Title:      Field Service Representative
Location:       Metro NYC

Description:
Responsible for scheduling and performing service work such as installation,
testing, repairing, and preventive maintenance on BD instrumentation.
Responsible for marketing the service Business and soliciting Service programs
for revenue generation.  Provide back-up support to other territories as
required.  Maintain customer files, routine administrative duties, and strong
support of area sales representatives.


Qualifications:
Typically requires an ASEE or equivalent and 3 years of Field Service experience
in the medical diagnostic industry, or equivalent combination of related
education and experience.  Knowledge and skills should include troubleshooting
of medical diagnostic systems to component level, working knowledge of PC and
MAC computer platforms, including word processing, database management and
networking, plus an understanding of basic biology.  Knowledge of immunology and
flow cytometry preferred.
