monitor summary

Lots of responses on the best size for a cytometer monitor. I send my thanks to all of you. Here's a rough summary:
*Most people liked the 21" monitor if you can afford it -- especially
if you are dealing with multiple lasers or lots of pages for analysis.
*Many people mentioned that BD's incremental cost for a 21" monitor
(over the standard 17") is too high ---- and that you would be better off
buying from BD the smaller monitor and then using it on another computer
after you buy your own larger monitor from a computer discount shop.
*speaking of extra monitors, if you have the room, some people mentioned
the option of using two small monitors (in parallel). That way you
could have one screen for acquisition plots and the other screen for
electronic controls.
*But a large group were perfectly happy with 17" monitors.
*Down side to the 21" monitor, other than its cost, is that it takes up lots of room on the bench.

Thanks again.
