When I balanced the costs of :

1- making my own HBSS from powder and filter sterilizing (autoclaving glass
is not an option here for several reasons).

2- using an 8x sheath fluid from Reise (I hear it is very good, but must be
prepared and filtered....filtering is also a challenge at times at my
company).

3- using an already prepared and sterilized 1 x HBSS w/out Ca, Mg, in 1
liter bottles.

I chose option # 3.....some clinical areas also have available to them
clinical saline at a good price. That is also not available to us, but
perhaps to you, and there are other options as well of which the rest of the
flow world will tell you!
