Where to find NK1.1?

Jason,

I am not familiar with the QS strain of mouse, but it is definitely known
that BALB/c mice do not express the antigen recognized by the NK1.1 (PK136)
mAb. They express another allele. The NK1.1 mAb should react with NK
cells of C57BL/6 mice and of mice on the B10 background. PharMingen sells
another antibody that reacts for the most part only with NK cells (it also
stains a small subset of T cells) called DX5. I would recommend obtaining
some of this antibody. Alternatively, you could look for a subset of cells
that is CD3-, and CD122+ - this population should be mostly NK cells. Good
luck.
