intrinsic versus extrinsic

Dear Flow community,

I am just going through my CAP inspection questions again and I am still not
100% sure as to the meaning of the following question: "Are methods
established to ensure that immunoglobulin staining is intrinsic and not
extrinsic (cytophilic)?"

I think, somebody asked this question a couple of months ago and was
wondering if there is any consensus out there what this means. Is washing
with PBA sufficient?
