WORKSHOP II – Cell Kinetics by Flow Cytometry – Nicholas

Presenters: Nick Terry, Allen White, Harry Crissman. 



Overview: This interactive workshop will focus on a dynamic total
population approach to the estimation of the kinetics of both cell
proliferation and cell death using flow-cytometric data production and
analytical techniques. The methods to be discussed have utility in in
vitro systems and in tumor and normal tissue studies. Static (e.g.,
single parameter DNA analyses) and dynamic (e.g., DNA vs. incorporated
halogenated pyrimidine) proliferative methods will be contrasted.
Concomitant and sequential analyses of cell death (e.g., by apoptosis)
will be described. Contemporary methods of data analysis will be
discussed. Pitfalls in data production and analysis will be demonstrated.


Participants are strongly encouraged to bring with them material
for discussion. No question will be considered too trivial. Please

advance if you have an extensive topic you would like discussed.
