Hello, everyone,
Hello, Keith,

This is some kind of input from BioCytex regarding the discussion about
antibodies inter crossreactivities and reactivities to pig antigens. I guess
that this also gives some help to Keith Bahjat in his outstanding efforts to
put together a chart:

As a reminder we use our whole blood quantitation technology developed and
discussed by Philippe Poncelet few months ago in this list.
It would certainly be too long to send all our datas through E-mail. However
We shall compile all the quantitative numbers soon and we shall send them to
Keith hopefully in January or February.

So far we evaluated the reactivities of many MoAbs for 10 different platelet
CDs (platelet glycoproteins) using our Platelet Gp kit, GpIIb/IIIa occupancy
kit, and HPA-1 polymorphism kit.
We tested Beagle blood, pig blood and Macaca cynomolgus blood. As an example
only one MoAb anti CD 61 (GpIIIa) was tested positive on pig blood whereas
two were positive on Beagle platelets and three were positive on M. cynomolgus.

Using our APOCYT Fas (cell) kit, we evaluated 8 different MoAbs against Fas
receptor. All were negative for pig Fas.

On pig leukocytes, very few cross reactivities were found with anti human CD
MoAbs with the exception of VLA, CD29 and CD49 showing an overall good staining.

This is an enormous project which we undertook before this discussion
initiated on the List. We hope that the final results will help all of you
facing these problems.
Lastly we would like to indicate that standardized quantitation really helps
us instead of only having to deal with percent of staining.

Please give us few more weeks and we shall get these results to you.
Keith, good luck with the web page on this topic. We think it is a great idea.
