Dear flow-ers, thank you for responding to my question about investigator use of equipment in core facilities. I received 11 responses from 11 core labs where investigators run and analyze their own data- for reduced fees. Three out of 11 responses were mildly "pro", and the other 8 were very emphatic yeses, saying that investigator use of the FACScan (but not FACStar+) is working well in their respective labs, for either running samples or for analysis. Responders stressed that specific procedure sheets should be given to users along with training them for 2-4 hours, and this should be enough to set them on the right path, particularly when there is a dedicated operator around, at least for some of the time. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Mariana.
