Unusual phenotype - Ken Orr

Ken,
        I have certainly seen expression of antigens in malignancies vary
upon site of aspiration.

We had a case which, like yours, had two populations morphologically which
had a phenotype of CD 5/19/20/22/23/Lambda+++/FMC7neg on all cells of which
over 50% also showed distinct CD6 and CD11a positivity.
That was in the peripheral sample whereas the bone marrow showed only a few
of the CD6/11a positives.
Similarily, a couple of CD2 positive "common" ALL's showed distinct  CD2
pos and CD2 neg subsets which differed considerably in percentage between
periphery and bone marrow.
