Fellow cyclists, Version 2 of my cell cycle analysis package (Cylchred) has been placed on CytonetUK http://www.uwcm.cf.ac.uk/uwcm/hg/hoy As for version 1, it is based on Jim Watson's Pragmatic Approach : Watson et al Cytometry 8 1-8 (1987) This version reads FCS single parameter binary files produced by WinMDI which I use to prepare DNA histograms (selecting sub-populations, eliminating doublets etc.) These histograms are saved from WinMDI using SAVE AS with the FCS binary box checked. Retaining the FCS format allows unwanted files (non FCS single parameter binary) to be ignored during wildcard searches. These caused some problems with version 1. Also, some of the text information that WinMDI passes on from the source file to the FCS histogram file is extracted and integrated into the cell cycle analysis. Information such as filename, parameter, aquisition date & sample ID is now retained along with the results. The results are stored as an ASCII text file which can be read by Excel. Further details are given in http://www.uwcm.cf.ac.uk/uwcm/hg/hoy/cca200.html Alice - what do you think of changing the name to CylchRED? All comments welcome. Terry.
