We are working with maize endosperm and DNA content.  One alternative DNA
standard we've used is chicken red blood cells (CRBC's), which works well.
We ordered them from BioSure in San Jose, CA ph:415 968-2922.  They
charged (a year ago) $60 for a 2.0 ml vial which lasts a good time.
