We have found that BD's 4 color LNW(lyse-nowash) reagents for
immunophenotyping demonstrate very good precision and accuracy in
triplicate testing when compared to the specimens prepared by the standard
technique of lysing RBC's and analysing by light scatter. Testing was done of
patients with low CD4 counts. $'s can be saved on tech time and actually
reagent costs as well. The technique is certainly worth investigating.

BD machines do a fine job with high speed particle sorting and analysis. I
still cringe when I hear reference to Mo-flow's; our Cicero/Cyclops
experience was not favorable.
