Reply to: RE>>MAbs for swine leucocytes To the list: To add to the information already provided, PharMingen now offers a few monoclonals to swine leukocytes: anti-CD1 clone 76-7-4 anti-CD2a clone 1038h-8-31 anti-CD4a clone 74-12-4 anti-CD8a clone 76-2-11 anti-SWC3a (monocytes/granulocytes) clone 74-22-15A anti-pan pig tissue clone 1030h-1-19 anti-SLA-DR clone 1053h2-18-1 These are purified immunoglobulins from tissue culture. Most of them are from the Second Swine CD Workshop (Immunology Today 17: 352-354, 1996), and some of them are the same clones as those offered by VMRD (as clarified, filtered ascites). We hope to expand our offering of antibodies to swine leukocytes in the months to come, so please inquire about specificities which do not appear on this list. If you need any further information, please contact PharMingen's technical service department at techserv@pharmingen.com or phone 800-825-5832 in the US and Canada. SUMMARY OF WORKSHOP FINDINGS FOR PORCINE T-LYMPHOCYTE ANTIGENS SAALMULLER A, AASTED B, CANALS A, DOMINGUEZ J, GOLDMAN T, LUNNEY JK, MAURER S, PESCOVITZ MD, POSPISIL R, SALMON H, TLASKALOVA H, VALPOTIC I, VIZCAINO JS, WEILAND E, ZUCKERMANN F VETERINARY IMMUNOLOGY AND IMMUNOPATHOLOGY 43: (1-3) 219-228 OCT 1994 Dr. Armin Sallmueller is a very helpful person. He actually laid out a 6 tube set of for a very comprehensive analysis to me using supernatants and isotype specific multicolour second step antibodies from Southern Biotecnology. Unfortunately the group that had initiated the work went for a set of FITC labeled antibodies from VRMD which gave far less information. Be aware of the CD45 from VRMD to be an IgM. I did not know until we had finished our study with 'interresting' CD45 results. Serotec offers an cd45 IgG2a and a whole range of others including a cd25. The cross reactivity patterns of anti human CD14 have not been consistent. Some antibodies only worked with older pigs. As their immunesystem is changing from NK to T-cell response within the first 3 to 6 month you might want to use older ones anyhow - which makes the sampling much more interesting (don't forget to take a camera).
