Hello I am an MBA student at the University of Newcastle, Australia preparing a marketing and business plan for commercial uses of a FACS Vantage recently acquired by the University. The machine was acquired primarily for research purposes however it is hoped to cover some of the operating costs by performing limited commercial work. Have carried out preliminary research however to proceed further I need the following information: 1. A technical data sheet detailing the uses and typical types of work and analyses the machine can perform. The purpose of this is to send to potential clients who will be able to decide by inspecting the data sheet if the FACS can perform work which can assist them. 2. I understand that the technology used in the FACS Vantage is relatively new. Is it proven and how? Are any FACS analysers used in NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia) accredited laboratories? If not I understand that the technology will have to be approved by the authority before going through the normal accreditation process. Has the technology been accredited by any overseas authorities? NATA accreditation would be a prerequisite to performing most types of commercial work. I am an engineer whose total knowledge of microbiology has been gained over the last six weeks while researching this project so please take this into account in any replies (the technical data sheet however should be technical enough to be useful). Thanks John
