MERIDIAN ULTIMA CONFOCAL OWNERS: ATTENTION:L As owner of a Meridian Instruments (Okemos Mi) Ultima Confocal scope, I came up against some trivial problems with the mirror scanning field sensor. So I tried to contact Meridian's technical service for advice. There is only a voice maill answering service, no living person responds. One gets the instruction " for emergency service call an 888 number", which if one calls, does not respond at all. Are these people out of business? Who among other Meridian Instruments owners and users know anything about these people? I heard rumors months ago they were in financial trouble. Now the question is, if the manufacturer is defunct, what are we to do with our 350K plus expensive machines when we need service? If Meridian is dead, should not we ULTIMA owners form some kind of a mutual assitance pool in trying to exchange info and experiences and somehow assist eachother in propping up our machines? Please owners, respond to this urgent call, WHAT INFO DO YOU HAVE, are my worries groundless or based on reality?
