Vacancy: Scientific Officer in the FACS Laboratory, Imperial Cancer
Research Fund

A post is available in the ICRF's FACS Laboratory based at Lincoln's Inn
Fields, London. The Lab provides a flow cytometry facility for the
research Laboratories based at the ICRF's London units.

We have two cell sorters - a triple laser FACS Vantage and a dual laser
FACStar+, and two benchtop analysers - a FACScan and a dual laser
FACSCalibur.

Duties include: providing an operator service for the flow cytometers in
the Laboratory, including maintenance of the instruments; training users
to operate the benchtop cytometers; assisting researchers in the
generation, display and analysis of results; maintenance and provision of
laboratory and machine components; introduction of new techniques
appropriate to the needs of the users.

The Lab is a high profile, multi-user facility and the candidate should
have experience in flow cytometry and experience in cell sorting would be
a definite advantage. Current applications include: phenotyping, DNA and
cell cycle analysis, detection of apoptosis, chromosome sorting and
analysis and functional studies. Further details can be seen on our Web
Pages.
