To those of you who knew Steve Micko, you are of course aware that he has passed from this life. Steve was my mentor, colleague and most of all good friend during his tenure at Emory. He was one of those people with whom we'd all like to work. He never got upset at my silly mistakes, never yelled at me, never told lies about me to my superiors, and always treated me with respect and kindness. It was my great honor and priviledge to be called his friend. To say that I miss him would be a monumental understatement. I have spoken with his wife, Connie, concerning details about memorial services and pertinent information. Connie was impressed with Atlanta Hospice, which is where Steve spent his last days. Donations in Steve's name can be made to: Atlanta Hospice 1244 Park Vista Drive Atlanta, Ga 30319 404/869-3000 Memorial services will be held Friday 6/27/97 at: Greenforest Chapel 3250 Rainbow Drive Decatur, Ga. Steve taught me a great deal...about flow cytometry, about sorting, about life. He had many stories to tell while we hovered around the sorter during clinical sorts. He led a colorful life, to put it mildly. Thanks to all of you who have sent your thoughts and prayers for Steve both in the past and the present. -Best Regards, -Bob K. -- ************************** Robert E.
