Scientific community of researchers with interest in cytometry is now enriched by the possibility to use the just published by Wiley-Liss Current Protocols in Cytometry. On behalf of the community I would like to congratulate and thank Paul Robinson for his long, and initially uphill strugle, to carry out and complete this endeavor. The vision to make the book of cytometry protocols and methods available to a wide audience of researchers, which Paul had during the past decade, has finally materialized. Thanks also are due to Gretchen Lawler for her hard work to collect all the mansuscripts and help in their editing. Dealing with the tardy authors (I was one of them) is not an easy task. Susan King of Wiley-Liss also deserves our thanks for her help and persistence to start and carry on this project. I believe I am expressing the opinion of all the Editors, in wishing that the wide community of researchers in the field of cytometry be actively involved in editing the Protocols. The Protocols are being updated every three months. Please send your critical comments about already published protocols. Please also send your suggestions regarding which methods should be presented in the forthcoming updates and propose the authors. Because of multiplicity and diversity of the methods being continously published it is impossible for the Editors to be familiar with all topics and be totally unbiased. High scientific level of Current Protocols, therefore, can only be maintained with active participation of a large number of reserchers willing to share their opinions, expertise and time. Thanks, Paul and your crew, from all of us, Zbigniew Darzynkiewicz
