Thank you *very much* indeed for your proposition regarding your book on
CD-ROM!
We are very interested in receiving a copy.
I must say that the flow cytometry is still an exotic in Ukraine.
There are only 4 Facscans in Kiev and another one in Lviv. As I know
these
machines are used only for routing work: 2-color phenotyping (with no
attempts
to measure MFI) and sometimes cell cycle. As I know *some* people here
is doing incorrectly even this humble flow job because of lack of some
BASIC knowledge
about cytometry. For example, until recently my colleagues and I were
deadly
sure that switching the DDM on would eliminate all doublets DURING
acquisition
(why not? the machine looks so smart..). As a result we have a lot of
files with
an FL1-A parameter written (a default parameter when the DDM is on).
I got a lot of fun when I found an article in Cytometry explaining what
the FL2-A/FL2-W gates are for. Maybe, it's time to open
"cytometry.alt.humor"?
There was even funnier story with compensation (many thanks to
Dr.Roederer
for his excellent Tutorial!).
There are already several issues of Cytometry in one library in Kiev
(thanks to the initiative of Prof. Darzinkewitch et al.). It is a very
good
journal but it cannot replace something like a handbook. So, I want to
thank you
again for your proposition.
