Dear Brent:

I have read some of the responses to your question. I certainly agree
with Maryalice and Dan from City of Hope. We have flowed many follicular
lymphomas (lymph nodes) and their corresponding PB and/or BM samples. By
no means are they all CD10 positive. This is based on routine histology
as a gold standard, but includes many cases with classic t(14;18) by
cytogenetics ie; good cases. I would not make this specific diagnosis on
the phenotype you described, as it could fit with several different
small cell B-lineage LPDs. Most of the comments Maryalice made are very
true. The compilation of all the data may allow a diagnosis in your
case, but I would not recommend a specific morphologic call based on a
non-specific immunophenotype. Interestingly, even the cases of FL
without a t(14;18) by cytogenetics (non t(14;18) FL cases) are CD10
positive at the same frequency as " garden-variety " FL.
