Antigen distribution:
Insulin is a protein consisting of an a-chain of 21 amino acids and a b-chain of 30 amino acids which is produced in the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas.
Application:
Monoclonal antibody E2-E3, detects human insulin as has been demonstrated by ELISA and immunohistochemistry on formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human pancreatic tissue. In addition swine and bovine insulun can be detected.
Clone E2-E3 may be applied in the identification of insulinomas.
Specifications:
Clone E2-E3 produces mouse IgG1 immunoglobulins directed against the insulin molecule.
