Product Information MRP14

Antigen distribution:
Mouse monoclonal antibody MAC387 reacts with human macrophages and detects the leukocyte L1, cystic fibrosis antigen. L1 protein is found on neutrophils, monocytes, certain reactive macrophages and squamous mucosal epithelia.

Application:
MAC387 is used most frequently as a macrophage marker. However it should be noted that MAC387 in common with other macrophage markers, is not entirely specific and should ideally be used within a panel of macrophage markers.
MAC387 is widely used for phenotypical characterization of macrophages and myelomonocytic cells in situ. Staining is strongly enhanced after digestion with trypsin.
In Western blot analysis MAC387 was found to detect a single protein band of 14 kD in lysates of human monocytes and granulocytes, which was demonstrated to be the calcium-binding protein MRP14. It is suitable for frozen sections, paraffin sections, ELISA and in Western blotting.

Specifications:
Clone MAC387 produces mouse IgG1 immunoglobulins directed against a 14 kD protein. A typical working dilution in immunohistochemistry is 1:.40
