• To promote research, development and applications in analytical cytology. Analytical cytology is broadly defined as the characterization and measurement of cells and cellular constitutents for biological experimental and therapeutic purposes. It embraces components of cytochemistry, cytophysics, anatomy, biology, phyiology, pathology, image analysis, instrumentation, clinical laboratory practice and other subjects of relevance;
• To facilitate integration of the many disciplines with analytical cytology;
• To disseminate knowledge of analytical cytology and;
• Provide information and advice on those aspects of public policy which are concerned with analytical cytology.

7th Workshop and Conference: Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens. Harrogate, UK (17 - 20 November 1999)

At this 7th Workshop IQ Products will also be present with a booth. This HLDA workshops were the start of the introduction of the CD antigens. During the 6 previous workshops, more than 150 different CD antigens have been clustered.

The next meeting in Harrogate (United Kingdom) will be broader in scope than in the past, and it will embrace all leucocyte-associated molecules, whether defined via antibodies or through gene cloning. Furthermore, for the first time it will include studies of dendritic cells and erythroid cells, of the haemopoietic stem cells, and also of carbohydrate epitopes and animal homologues.

European Virology Conference. Glasgow, Scotland (17 - 21 September, 2000)

The European Virology meeting will be held in the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow Scotland. The focus of this conference will be the discovery and application of new therapies, new vaccins, molecular and structural biology, viral diagnostics, the immune responses against virusses and virus interactions with the cell that may lead to new therapeutic approaches.

More than 1250 delegates are expected from all European countries, including East Europe. Delegates are also expected from the USA, Australia and also the Far East.
