COULTER® EPICS Elite ESP
High Performance Cell Sorter
The EPICS Elite ESP Flow Cytometer is the newest generation of the Elite product line.This high-performance instrument is a powerful tool for innovative research in immunobiology, cell physiology, molecular biology, genetics, water quality and plant cell analysis.
The Elite ESP (Enhanced System Performance) features the capability to analyze and to sort up to 6 colors simultaneously while performing complex multi-parameter applications such as DNA quantification, fuctional studies, chromosome enumeration or physiological measurements.
The cell sorting capabilities of the Elite ESP allows for the rapid separation of large numbers of specific cell populations using one of the four pre-defined sort modes. A fifth sort mode offers custom sort set-up. Greater than 99% purities can be achieved, even at data rates of up to 15,000 cells per second.Individual cell cloning is possible with the Autoclone® Sorting Option.
Extraordinarily adaptable and versatile, the Elite ESP offers a wide-open, industry standard optical platform that is user-configurable.The flexible nature of the optical design, which was developed 7 years ago for the original Elite System, is still state-of-the-art able to satisfy most every cutting-edge research application. Laser preferences, anywhere from the inexpensive, air cooled lasers to the top-of-the-line high powered water cooled lasers, can easily fit on the optical bench, allowing almost any combination of excitation wavelenghts. The system's ergonomic design occupies a mere 21 square feet of laboratory space.
The Elite ESP is the only high speed cell sorter to incorporate all of the following: low-power air-cooled lasers; high-resolution, sense-in-quartz analysis and sorting; video sort set-up and monitoring; Autoclone Sorting option; Time-of-flight; PRISM and Panelizer, all with high-performance PentiumŪ workstation for data acquisition and analysis.
The Elite ESP offers enhanced immunofluorescence sensitivity and high performance with an extensive complement of laser options and computer peripherals.Standard software includes Elite version 4.x for DOS. Elite for Windows software is also available which permits acquisition and analysis of the Elite ESP in either the Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 environments.
In keeping with the flexibility in the design philosophy of the Elite, earlier Elites can be upgraded to full Elite ESP functionality with an upgrade kit. New Elite ESPs can be designed with your needs in mind.
