The COULTER Manual CD4 Count Kit is a portable, low-cost CD4 count method for determining the immune status of patients without the use of a flow cytometer. It involves latex beads coated with specific monoclonal Antibodies. The antibodies recognize the cell surface antigen and beads forming rosettes. The COULTER Manual CD4 Count Kit provides 2 µm diameter beads coated with monoclonal antibody to CD4 antigen (COULTER™ CD4 Cyto-Spheres™ Reagent ), 0.2 µm diameter beads coated with monoclonal antibody to CD14 antigen (COULTER™ MY4 Cyto-Spheres™ Monocyte Blocking Reagent) used as a monocyte blocking reagent and a vial of COULTER Lysing Reagent. This fast (10 minutes) and simple (conversion chart) method correlates with results from a flow cytometer to 30 cells/µL.
