L-Aminopeptidase

Part Number: 7547095

Leu-Rho110 is a substrate for aminopeptidases, especially the zinc-metalloenzyme leucine aminopeptidase. The aminopeptidases are a group of enzymes which hydrolyze peptide bonds near the N-terminus of polypeptides. Leucine aminopeptidase preferentially hydrolyzes natural or synthetic substrates with an N-terminal leucine residue. Leucine aminopeptidase is generally localized to cytosolic subfractions. In addition to liver, it is present in lung, stomach, kidney, intestine, serum and leukocytes. Leucine aminopeptidase has been studied in macrophages isolated from mouse mammary glands.
Alternative enzyme nomenclature: leucine aminopeptidase: EC 3.4.11.1
