G-Aminopeptidase

Part Number: 7547084

Gly-Rho110 is a substrate for the aminopeptidases, a group of enzymes which hydrolyze peptide bonds near the N-terminus of polypeptides. One major physiological role for aminopeptidases is the final breakdown of peptides into amino acids in such processes as digestion. One aminopeptidase, the membrane bound aminopeptidase M, may also have a role in myeloid cell regulation as a negative regulator through inactivation of bioactive peptides, including enkephalins. Aminopeptidase M may also have roles in the inactivation of neurokinin A and cholecystokinin metabolism.
Alternative enzyme nomenclature: Aminopeptidase M: Aminopeptidase N, EC 3.4.11.2
