CYTO-STATS

The CD33 antigen is a single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 67 kDa. The extracellular portion of the molecule belongs to the Ig superfamily, involving one V-like and one C2-like domain. This antigen shows homology to myelin-associated glycoprotein and the CD22 molecule. It is expressed on monocytes in peripheral blood. In the bone marrow, CD33 antigen is found on granulocyte and macrophage precursors, and is absent from pluripotent stem cells. MY9 antibody was evaluated during the Second International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens. D3HL60.251 antibody was evaluated during the Fourth Workshop.
