The CD11b antigen (Mac1) is the 165 kDa integrin aM-chain, non-covalently associated with the 95 kDa CD18 antigen (integrin b2). It has been identified as the C3bi Complement Receptor (CR3). As a member of the b2 integrin family of adhesion molecules, Mac-1 mediates polymorphonuclear and monocyte adherence to endothelium. The CD11b ligands are ICAM-1 (CD54), factor X, fibrinogen and endotoxin. CD11b antibodies react with myeloid and Natural Killer (NK) cells in the peripheral blood. They recognize peripheral blood lymphocytes and a subset of T cells. A portion of CD11b+ cells is also positive for CD8. They react also with granulocytes and monocytes. Bear1 is not a blocking antibody. Mo1 antibody was evaluated during the First International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens. Bear1 antibody was evaluated during the Fifth Workshop.
