GFP/Apoptosis

Greetings,
We are interested in monitoring apoptosis in cells that are
co-transfected with Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) as a marker of
transfection. We currently use PI staining to measure apoptosis, but
evidently the fixation method is not compatible with GFP methods. We
have thought of using Annexin V to monitor apoptosis instead. Has
anyone tried this combination? Or are there any other apoptosis
markers that would work with GFP?
