DNA Aneuploidy

With regard to the question from Linda Pilarski about distinguishing a G2/M
population from a G0/G1 peak for a tetraploid cell line: one way is to look
for that typical G1/S/G2 shape that you expect from cycling cells -- but at
the tetraploid to 8C positions on the DNA histogram. If you do have
cycling tetraploid cells, you should be able to see this characteristic
profile. Look at page 428 in Melamed's big yellow book. It's not a perfect
diagnosis of tetraploid cells, but it might help.
