Does trypan blue quench PE?

There are several references where trypan blue was used to quench the
extracellular fluorescence of bioparticles labelled with FITC thereby
distinguishing them from intracellular particles resulting from phagocytosis. I
would like to do some two color work to look at phagocytosis (of FITC
bioparticles) in subsets of mononuclear cells. These would be identified by
mAbs and PE. Is this feasible or will the trypan blue also quench PE?
