Yes, we use the large-scale CellPro device for certain clinical trials
involving CD34 enrichment in the setting of T-cell depletion by elutriation.
The small-scale research device also is used in several basic science labs
here.
I can't speak for others, of course, but we've been quite pleased with it,
both in terms of user-friendliness as clinical laboratory method, and in
terms of the quality and purity of the product. Obviously, methods for
measuring the CD34-positive population are quite critical in evaluating this.
You might also want to speak with Steve Noga, at Johns Hopkins. Among his
other responsibilities, he runs the cell processing lab there, and uses the
CellPro device.
