detection of lacZ

I wonder whether there is a way to detect reporter genes in cells from
transgenic animals via FACS? I have recently seen a catalogue for an in
vivo lacZ B-galactosidase detection kit and would like to be able to
separate lacZ-containing from lacZ-negative cells for primary cultures.

Is there a reporter gene which codes for a membrane protein that can be
labeled without fixing a cell?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
