removal of surface antibodies from cells

Does anyone have a good protocol for removing (essentially all) surface
antibody from cells after sorting? We can detect the rat Ig that we use
for surface staining when we run immunoblots that require an anti-rat
secondary antibody. Barring a good protocol, does anyone have any
instincts as to which common enzymes (e.g., trypsin, proteinase K) might be
most likely to be effective without destroying the cell? I will repost a
summary in the event of multiple responses. Thanks for your input.
