FDG vs GFP

I've not seen anything to convince me that GFP is comparable to lacZ
as a reporter molecule - although I'm prepared to be enlightened!
The catalytic activity of lacZ makes it obvious to me it has to be
much more sensitive than GFP. The latter may be OK if you have
slowly dividing cells or very high levels of expression (i.e
transient burst), but I have yet to see convincing data that show
GFP expression in RAPIDLY DIVIDING mammalian cells from a SINGLE
COPY integrated vector.
