Do you just want to extract the settings, or feed them into the instrument?
Do you still use the HP for acquisition, or have you changed over to Mac
completely?
(We have just begun evaluating Cellquest for offline analysis, very little
experience so far, and do NOT have a Mac connected to a cytometer)

HP LYSYS and Cellquest each use a slightly different "FCS2 standard", I don't
know yet if a Cellquest file can be read into the HP system (something else
to test...)

If you have access to a PC and can read the datafile(s) into the PC, then
WinMDI could give you a work-around.
It has a "file tool" which displays all text items stored in datafiles; You
could write down the settings, then feed them into the "instrument settings"
window (or even manually set them on the flow cytometer...)

Cellquest does not appear to have the facility to display the datafile text.
The manual describes how to restore instrument settings from a saved settings
file, but does NOT state if settings can be restored from a datafile or not;
(another question for BD...)

Good Luck!
Joseph.
