I would question the use of Ficoll separation on these specimins in any event.
Considering the assumed abnormality, and potentially rare, nature of the cells
analyzed, I worry over what I'm eliminating unknowingly. I think there is a
rapidly developing consensus re: immunophenotyping supporting whole blood
processing - not to mention the relative improvement in handling pathogen-
contaminated samples (okay, I will mention it).
