I would suggest the following course of experiments:
-determine whether the cell line in question expresses FasR and what happens
to the levels upon drug treatment
-attempt to induce apoptosis in the cells with an inducing anti Fas Ab or
souluble Fas L in th e presence or absence of drug
-then attempt to block this interaction with either or both of the reagent s
you mentioned
-remember that , depending on the specific system,modulatin of many other
molecules [both pro and anti apoptotic] may be involved in inducing or
preventing cell death
