A few years ago, Aaron Kantor worked out in our laboratory how to do single cell
deposition into very small volumes for his single-cell, immunoglobulin
sequencing project (PCR-based). He deposited individual cells into 4 ul volumes
at the bottom of small eppendorf tubes; however, it should work well for
Terasaki wells too.

The most important feature of the setup was to offset the main stream (and main
stream collector) from vertical such that the sort stream itself is vertical.
The idea is to have the sorted drops falling vertically--this gives the smallest
target area for the sort.
