Plenary Speaker Award (Platform Presentation) A $150 Award will be given to the platform speaker who presents the best talk. Speakers will be selected from abstracts submitted by technicians/ tech-nologists, graduate students and post-docs (or equivalent). Selected speakers will be notified prior to the meeting which plenary session they will be presenting in. Talks will be limited to 10 minutes plus discussion unless otherwise notified. The only criteria for selection is a well prepared abstract. Abstract guidelines and judging criteria for both the abstract and talk can be obtained prior to the meeting from our web page or Julie Auger, Education Commitee Chair (see below). Speakers must also bring a poster and can compete for the poster award as well. Clearly indicate below and on your submitted abstract if you want to compete for the Plenary Platform Speaker Award.
__ I wish to compete for the Plenary Speaker Award and the Poster Award.
__ I wish to compete for the Poster Award only.
Abstract Deadline for Award Competition - August 15, 1997
Use bold, 12 point, times font to fit in a 5 in. (h) x 3.5 in. (w) rectangle for your abstract. You may mail or email your abstract to the GLI2FCA office. If you fax your abstract, an original must be mailed also.
Poster Session (Abstract needed to compete)
Posters will be presented in conventional fashion.
Specifically, poster presentation sessions will be
scheduled during coffee breaks of plenary
sessions. Posters will be assigned a specific
session (A, B or C) and the author will be
expected to be at his/her poster to present a
synopsis of the work and answer questions during
the appointed time. A $100 Poster Award will be
given to the best poster selected by the education
committee. Judging criteria will include poster
layout as well as verbal presentation. A complete
outline of the judging criteria can be obtained
prior to the meeting by email or our web page.
Please contact Julie Auger, Education Comm.
Chair at jauger@flowcity.bsd.uchicago.edu.
