Biomechanics of Skeletal Regeneration.
Course Instructor: Charles H. Turner, Ph.D.
Course description: This course will explore the nature of tissue
differentiation during skeletal development and healing, with emphasis on
the role of biomechanics. Specifically, the course will cover the basic
mechanisms of tissue differentiation, healing responses in bone and
cartilage, tissue engineering approaches in cartilage, distraction
osteogenesis and bone regeneration, and mechanotransduction and regulation
of tissue function by biomechanics.
