CD2
T CELLS
The CD2 antigen (LFA-2) is a monomeric 50 kDa glycoprotein which was formerly described as receptor for sheep red blood cells rosetting of T cells and identified as LFA-3 (CD58) ligand. It is present on the majority of normal human peripheral blood T lymphocytes and on a high percentage of Natural Killer (NK) cells. It is also expressed by all thymocytes. 39C1.5 and SFCI3Pt2H9 antibodies inhibit sheep erythrocyte rosette formation. 6F10.3 antibody reacts with T11.2 epitope. The 6F10.3 and 39C1.5 monoclonal antibodies, if used together, may act as T cell activators in vitro. T11 antibody was evaluated during the First International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens. 39C1.5 antibody was evaluated during the Fourth Workshop.
