My experience with usenet groups is that the signal to noise ratio tends
to be pretty small. Since this list is archived on the web, it is easily
found (that is how I came across it). I think that a listserv group
tends to attract people who are likely to participate in a meaningful
way, rather than "dropping" in whenever they're cruising the usenet news.
Also, the current volume of messages is plenty in my book.
