Flurochrome sensitivity

I have not personally tested the EPICS XL and the FACSCalibur for their
sensitivity to R-PE, but I believe that you will find that this EPICS
instrument will resolve R-PE labeled material equal to or better than the BD
instrumets. The problem with the coulter instruments which appeared in my
paper in clinical cytometery was with older model instruments and it is my
belief that the results obtained in my survey was due to Raman scattered
light from the fluid stream. Newer model coulter instruments such as the XL
have been designed to eliminate much of this scattering and should not pose a
problem.
