The laboratory performs immunphenotyping on acute and chronic leukaemias
and lymphoma by flow cytometry (BD FACScan) and and also has a rapidly
expanding transplantion programme involving PBSC, BM and cord blood
transplants.
The Molecular Haematology Laboratory in association with the BMT Research
Laboratory operates out of the Dept of Molecular Medicine in the School of
Medicine and is associated with a number of research projects with emphasis
on transplantation, malignancy and haemophilia. The laboratory is also a
referrral centre for a range of molecular assays related to malignant
disorders and inherited gene defects.
2. A Vantage FACS sorter is being installed in the Department this month
and we will be seeking an operator.
