Research Specialist in Life Sciences/Flow Cytometry
The Biotechnology Center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
has an opening for a Research Specialist in Life Sciences to direct the
University's Flow Cytometry Facility. Qualifications include a Masters
degree in life sciences, or the equivalent combination of education and
experience. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in
operation and maintenance of flow cytometry instrumentation. Duties will
include the operation, maintenance, and repair of three Coulter flow
cytometer/cell sorter systems as well as participation in development of flow
cytometry technology. The Research Specialist will act as a consultant to
investigators in their use of the flow cytometers, train students in the
operation of the flow cytometers, supervise and schedule the use of the
instruments, and ensure proper collection and handling of the data.
This is a regular, full-time 12-month academic professional position.
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. The position is
available June 15, 1993, or when a suitable candidate is located.
