Routine cleaning of Brewster windows should be done with methanol, according
to procedures recommended by Coherent for their lasers. In extreme cases,
lasers can be brought back from near-death using a bifluoride treatment.
This is a highly corrosive chemical that should be used very cautiously. I
rely on Coherent to do this procedure, but you could contact them for a
recommendation on its use.
